Are you looking for a version of the Windelo with enhanced performance? Faster, our Sport versions will appeal to the most demanding sailors.

On board the Windelo Sport (51 – 55 – 59 – 63), the sensation and pleasure of sailing are at the heart of every consideration.

These new versions have been optimized down to the smallest detail to increase their performance under sail and fully leverage their potential.

Optimized hull shape

The resolutely more aggressive design of the Windelo 51, 55, 59 and 63 Sport stands out with sleek, sharp lines. Sport versions boast a longer waterline length and more pronounced inverted bows, up to 17°.

This more radical design boosts the speed potential and improves the passage through the waves. For better upwind performance, the daggerboards have been reshaped and extended by 65 cm to improve lift even further.

The balanced rudders have also been redesigned and significantly lenghened to enhance helm sensivity.

Lighter and stiffer, the rudders and daggerboards of the Windelo Sport are made from Carbon fiber.

A racing rig

A lighter and more powerful rig comes standard on the Sport versions. The use of carbon mast profiles, extended by one meter and equiped with Kevlar rigging, results in a weight reduction of nearly 15% in the upper sections, while increasin the sail area.

The traditional bowsprit and aluminum forward beam are replaced by a stiffer and lighter carbon cross beam, with a 30 cm extension that adds up to 20% more surface area to the downwind sails.

To fully leverage the power of the Racing rig, the Windelo 51 & 55 Sport, and all the Sport Version are equiped with Racing deck fittings and high-end blocks on Dyneema lashings.

The sail set has also received a special attention. Windelo has chosen 3D membrane technology , using a selection of durable, high-performance materials derived from offshore racing.

The self-tacking solent is replaced by a system of traditional sheets, allowing for the optional installation of a removable forestay and staysail.

For perfect control of the rig and harmonious aerodynamic performance, the Windelo 51 & 55 Sport are equiped with additional sail trimming features.
Overall, the rig of the Sport versions has been carefully refined, offering more control and power for an unmatched sailing experience!

A lighter structure & layout

The layouts of the Windelo Sport versions are lighter and more technical. A more dynamic interior design highlights the sporty character of these two new versions, without sacrificing the brand’s core values: eco-responsibility, pleasure and comfort of living.

To lighten the layout, new materials have been carefully selected. On board the Sport versions, every detail counts. Technical composites are showcased and integrated into the new design: exposed basalt fiber, carbon helms…

To reduce weight and with stand greater forces, the internal structure of the Windelo Sport is also optimized. The main structural bulkheads are made 100% from carbon fiber.
