    Apollo is a fully equipped Windelo 54 Yachting model with light usage (Mediterranean only) and an extremely high level of specification. Perfect for blue-water cruising and ARC adventures, Apollo has been equipped for long-distance, self-sufficient cruising. Upwind and downwind sails allow Apollo to operate under sail in wind speeds of only 4 knots with outstanding performance, with boat speed matching wind speed up to 10 knots. Daggerboards allow for similar upwind performance to fast monohulls, sailing at 35 degrees to the apparent wind.

    The innovative forward cockpit design allows for extremely safe passage-making, with all lines led back to the large cockpit, which is linked to the living area and on the same level. With the aft doors closed at sea, the combined living area and cockpit is a safe  and totally enclosed space, perfect for families and for long-distance passage-making in comfort.

    At anchor, the opening forward and aft doors combined with port and starboard huge sliding windows catch every breeze, keeping the interior cool.

    With twin electric motors and dual 48V Lithium battery banks, Apollo can motor at 6 knots under batteries alone for 24 miles. In practical use, the motors are only used when entering or leaving the harbour, and the energy is easily replaced by solar or hydrogenation, giving environmentally friendly and silent operation.Windelo 54 models have crossed the Atlantic several times without needing to run the generator at all. 3.3 KWH of solar panels easily meet the boat’s running needs. In the unlikely event of a prolonged period with no wind, hybrid power with the twin generators and large 500L fuel tanks gives a 1,000 NM range under motor if ever required.

    • Hybrid power with twin 20KW electric motors, 3.3 KWH of solar, hydro-generation, and twin backup Fischer Panda 18KW generators for high levels of self-sufficiency and redundancy.
    • 48V Lithium battery packs with 1120AH and 24V Lithium 300AH service batteries.
    • 500L fuel tanks giving a range under motors of 1,000+ NM.
    • Schenker 105L/H watermaker and 500L water tanks.
    • Upwind Code 0 and downwind Gennaker sails, which allow Apollo to sail in winds as low as 4 knots.
